Who We Are
Our Vision
Since 1974, Sandbridge Rescue has striven to provide 24/7 year-round emergency medical care to residents and visitors of Sandbridge and the surrounding Virginia Beach area free of charge. We are 100% volunteers and supported by our outstanding donors.
Purpose
We are a community-based group focused on raising funds in support of the Sandbridge Volunteer Rescue Squad serving the Sandbridge community.
Membership
Thank you for taking the first step in becoming a Sandbridge Volunteer Rescue Squad Booster! Booster membership is open to any person who actively participates in the fund-raising activities of the Sandbridge Volunteer Rescue Squad.
To be considered a Sandbridge Booster, you must first fill out a Booster application and be available to volunteer at least 12 hours per year fund raising for the Volunteer Rescue Squad.
Several ways to volunteer your hours include, working at least (2) Bingo nights (6:30 PM – 9:30PM) on one of the (10) Wednesdays during the summer, work a (2) hour shift at the Sandbridge Annual Pig Pickin’, and participating in at least one of the committees listed below:
- Bingo Logistics Committee
- Pig Pickin’ Event Prep & Setup Committee
- Pig Pickin’ Sponsorship Committee
- Pig Pickin’ Auction/T-shirt/Advertising Committee
- Finance Committee
- Communications and Scheduling Committee
Once you have filled out the membership application and committed to the hours required, it will be forwarded to the Sandbridge Volunteer Rescue Squad Executive Committee for approval. Upon approval, you will be notified and provided with a uniform shirt to wear at Fund Raising Events.
